I've been going to sleep at night with the CD audio disks from the new "Out Of Your Mind" compilation released by Watt's son and Sounds True.

There is something about listening to him lecture that gives me a deeper understanding and it's a great way to get ready for dream state. Anybody else dig it?

    i totally dig it.
I used to listen to his lectures on the radio when i was in high school in L.A. I think KMET or KLOS played his lectures on Sunday or Saturday nights after midnight...
it wasn't til years later that i realized the impact those late night listenings had on my mind.

Right on. I grew up in Santa Barbara so we could get those stations on good nights with just a little static. I used to put my headphones on and listent to Dr. Demento when I was that age.
I wish he had lived long enough to attend Burning Man as I would love to listen to him talk about it.

        right on, right on....
i lost track of him or my thoughts about him for 20 years and then, thanks to the internet, i rediscovered his writings.
i'd love to hear what he had to say about a lot of what's going down in the world today... but he's said all he'll ever get to say... and that is probably enough to keep us all learning something new and moving this world forward in a positive direction...

Everything, even his humor, is absolutely timeless. I would love to know if any electronica DJ's have put any of his audio samples into a music mix.

I included a track on my last cd that features one of Watts' lectures overtop of a beat and an acoustic guitar sample.
It's ended up being one of the more popular tracks on the disc.

If anyone wants to hear it, message me and I'll send it to you.

      Accept the perfection that is...

Let go of the past, there is no past, just memories...

Don't worry about the future, it's just a memory that hasn't happened...

Don't look for the now, it's not between the past and the future...

Love others for who/what they are, not what they do...

Turn off the worry loop that runs in your imaginary head...

      Turn off the anger loop...

      Turn off the greed loop...

      And the desire loop...

      The fear loop too...

The world is what you think...

Change your mind and change the world...

      This is all there is...

      The kingdom is at hand...

      Instant Karma...

      Bliss out...

      Peace...

      Blessings...

      Joy...

      Abundance...

      Acceptance...

      Welcome home...

I've been doing the same exact thing lately. There's something incredibly comforting about listening to his voice in a dark room. Makes me relaxed and extremely meditative. . .

    Great, great stuff.

I love it! I also get more out of his lectures than anything else- more than reading his writings. I think it's because I feel like my favorite professor is chatting with me. His voice and his demeanor are comforting and engaging.

Tru that. Have you been getting his podcasts? I think his son is uploading them.

Wow and I thought I was the only one jacking into his lectures and podcast as I drift off to sleep at night. Listening to Alan as I sleep is like morphine for my mind. I relax and let go of the worry of each day to begin fresh, anew each morning. Nothing like the truth to set me free.

Are there many in Hayward? If so how about gathering once a month to discuss his work?

I am reading three books at the moment, Wisdom of Insecurity, The Book, and Become What You Are. It's great to share these chapters each Sunday with my eleven year old son. I am making a conscience effort not to expose him to guilt ridden toxin of today's Christianity. I want to expose him to the truth of life; all that is beautiful and know that there is ugly too. Life is life, a brief pulse between the two eternal darknesses.

            Be Here Now.
