It is quite funny to me to he Dharma teachers time and time again speak of the exact same things that Alan Watts spoke of decades ago and yet give little worth to his teachings or books. For me his books were far more concise than the founder of the school of Zen I currently study under so I dont know what the hesitation that these Teachers have in mentioning any of his books and or lectures..... All they ever come up with is that he was a drunk. But, I am sure that if I look into the past of my own school of Zen I will find the same if not worse. Does anyone else run into this with there teachers?????

i also find this to be true. i've brought up alan watts with three of my eastern religion profs and two had never even heard of him. the third had, but preferred scholars like d.t. suzuki and thich nhat hanh (reasoning not mentioned).
